Symystech Solutions’ role in restarting wastewater plants after the River Murray’s devastating 2022-23 historic floods

Between November 2022 and February 2023, the River Murray experienced a significant flood event caused by heavy rainfall and flood occurrences in other states. This particular flood event was the most extensive since 1956 and the third highest flood ever documented in South Australia. It resulted in a substantial impact on numerous homes, businesses, shacks, and infrastructure and has left many properties along the River uninhabitable and requiring demolition.
In response to the flooding, the Mid-Murray council contacted Symystech Solutions in March 2023 to explore the potential use of SymbioBac™ to restart their wastewater treatment plants. SymbioBac proved to be highly effective in facilitating the recovery process and is still in use at their facilities.
